Why it matters
When a page says one thing in its text and another in its video, image or markup, visitors lose trust and do not know which figure to believe. Search engines and AI answer engines read all of these layers, so conflicting prices, features or dates can lead to the wrong fact being shown or the page being treated as unreliable.
How to implement
- Pick one agreed set of facts for each entity, covering name, price, features and dates.
- Check images, alt text, video transcripts and schema against that set.
- Correct the correct entity or model name on every media asset.
- Update or date any transcript that still quotes an old price or spec.
- Remove schema values that do not appear in the visible text.
Checklist
- Add the correct entity or model name to each media asset.
- If a video transcript contains an old price or spec, add a date or update it.
- Do not keep facts in schema that differ from the visible text.
- Do not show one product in an image while the alt text names a different model.
How to audit
- Sample entity consistency across text, images, video and schema.
How UltimateSEO checks this automatically
Automated. Checked automatically: disagreement between visible text and structured data, for example an Organization name that differs from the visible brand or a telephone number present only in schema.
States used: PASS, FAIL, UNKNOWN, NOT_APPLICABLE or BLOCKED. UNKNOWN is never shown as a pass. How states work.
